K1 Speed Builds Temporary Kart Track During Miami GP Weekend
We are die-hard Formula One fans here at K1 Speed, so when the opportunity came to help TAG Heuer and Oracle Red Bull Racing by building a temporary go kart track for their special pop-event during the first-ever Miami Grand Prix, we leapt at it.
Temporary Track, Lasting Experience

Our outdoor track is part of the TAG Heuer Miami Experience, a special outdoor installation to celebrate the race week and the watchmaker’s partnership with Oracle Red Bull Racing. Those in town for the race weekend have the unique pleasure of getting behind the wheel and go head-to-head against their friends in our TAG Heuer-branded all-electric go karts that can reach speeds of up to 45mph.
Aside from our racing experience, the track is surrounded with gas pumps made to display TAG Heuer watches (if you thought you last charge at the pump was expensive..) . The displays showcase their cool new watches that were designed in collaboration with Oracle Red Bull Racing, like their Formula 1 x Red Bull Racing quartz watch. In addition, attendees will also learn about TAG Heuer’s deep relationship with motor racing that extends over decades (who can forget Steve McQueen wearing his Monaco in the movie Le Mans?).
And of course, there’s no ignoring the ENORMOUS mural of Max Verstappen in his No.1 car.
The event began on Tuesday, May 3rd, and goes on until Saturday, May 7th. On Saturday evening during a private cocktail party, the track will be visited by none other than Max Verstappen and Checo Perez! These guys are not only amazing F1 drivers for Red Bull, but double as ambassadors for TAG Heuer.
Not Our First Temporary Track!
Long-time followers of K1 Speed will know this wasn’t the first temporary outdoor track we’ve ever created. In fact, we first built one for the Formula E race in Long Beach, and for several years, we had one at the world-famous Long Beach Grand Prix.
Temporary Tracks in the Future…
There’s no telling where or when our next outdoor track may show up next! Of course, we’d love to be around for the new Las Vegas race that was recently announced for the 2023 Formula One schedule. We might also show up at a popular music festival one of these years too. Or maybe a large company might want to host a special GP in their parking lot. But no matter where we end up, we’ll be sure to let you know!
