World Champion says More Karting was the Key
Nico Rosberg announces his retirement days after winning his first world title.
Nico mentions more karting over the course of the year played a key role in helping him achieve his first Formula 1 world championship.
“I do a lot of different, alternative stuff to try and be at my best and it’s worked, it’s paid off. This year, for example, I did a lot of go-karting which I hadn’t done in the past because we don’t drive much [in F1], Nico says.”
Winning his first world title this past Sunday, the German states, “I have climbed my mountain, I am on the peak, so this feels right.” Rosberg retires with winning nine of this season’s 21 grand prix. “For 25 years in racing, it has been my dream, my ‘one thing’ to become Formula 1 world champion. Through the hard work, the pain, the sacrifices, this has been my target. And now I’ve made it, he added.”
Congratulations Nico!
