Meet Rodney Price – K1RS Points Leader

Karting Enthusiast, Bungee Jump Fanatic, Thrill Seeker

A true adrenaline junkie, Price has raced, bungee jumped, and taken on canyon swings across 70 countries.

Rodney Price, 56, has been in a go-kart since he was just 8 years old. A true adrenaline junkie, Price travels the world in search of new bungee jumps and canyon swings. On his trips, Price looks for karting tracks and does not hesitate to set new lap records wherever he goes.

Noteworthy jump/swing locations include, but are definitely not limited to: above the Nile River in Uganda, across the Avencal Waterfall in Brazil, and off a canyon in Moab, Utah.

When asked about his favorite bungee jump, Price said, “it’d have to be when I jumped out of a hot air balloon right over the city of Stockholm, Sweden. It was a really, really good experience.” Bungee jumping, riding in a hot air balloon, and visiting Stockholm – Price crossed off three items on most people’s bucket lists in one go.

Price became aware of K1 Speed centers during his trips, both domestic and abroad. “I ran across a lot of K1 locations in different places, especially in the U.S…. I ran across one in China, did that, and one in Italy, but unfortunately, I did not get to race at that one,” Price said about finding K1 Speed locations worldwide on his travels.

In 2023, Price finished sixth in points without being aware of the K1RS leaderboard. With bungee jump trips scheduled throughout 2024, Price returned to the K1RS leaderboard in 2025 with one goal in mind: finish first in points. Price is well on his way to accomplishing his goal, currently in first with 18,916 points – a full 10,000 points ahead of second place. For perspective, 2024 K1RS winner, William Broderick, finished the year with 22,650 points. Price is just 3,734 points behind that… oh, and it’s only April.

If he’s not racking up K1RS points or bungee jumping out of hot air balloons, Price spends his time working as an automation engineer, designing machinery. Through his profession, Price has worked on lots of racing equipment, getting the chance to tune cars featured in Street Outlaws and other high-horsepower drag cars. Price even once had the world’s fastest ATV, which he built from scratch. A photo of the ATV is featured below.

Karting opened Price’s eyes to the world of racing, and he hasn’t blinked since. A storied driver’s resume, Price has logged hours behind the wheel of Late Model Dirt and Asphalt cars, Legends cars, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens, and even an IndyCar.

Price’s dedication to racing at K1 Speed is truly remarkable. A resident of North Carolina, Price alternates his travel between K1 Speed Concord and K1 Speed Richmond – the latter of which takes him around 4 hours of driving to reach when restricted to the speeds of the road. Price’s dedication does not stop at his commute to K1 centers. He spends the better part of most weeks racing back-to-back to maximize his points total.

With his focus on K1RS this year, Price has put off visiting K1 Circuit locations, but plans to visit both Winchester and our new Whiteland track. If you race at K1 Speed Richmond or K1 Speed Concord and want a faster lap time, look for Price on the track and model your race line after his.

We at K1 Speed are happy to get the chance to share Price’s incredible story and hope that he serves as an inspiration for other K1 Speed customers to embody.
